(KRON) — A wildfire ignited in Geyserville Thursday afternoon along Maacama Ridge Road. CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit officials said the blaze, dubbed the Maacamas Fire, burned about five acres with a “slow rate of spread.”
By 5:30 p.m., firefighters had 20 percent of the wildfire contained.
“The fire is approximately 5 acres, 20% contained, and the forward progress has been stopped. Firefighters will be in the area for the next few hours working on containment and putting out hot spots,” CalFire officials wrote.
