(KRON) — A man armed with a box cutter forcibly stole a car in East San Jose on Thursday and then drove it directly into a dental office, according to the San Jose Police Department. The incident occurred around 6:49 p.m. in the area of Burdette Drive and King Road.
The suspected carjacker, who police did not identify, had brandished a box cutter at several people as they were loading items into the rear of a Lexus car. After stealing the keys to the Lexus by force, the suspect jumped into the driver’s seat and reversed out of the parking spot. The suspect “then proceeded to drive directly through a commercial building,” said SJPD.

The victim of the carjacking suffered several injuries considered non-life-threatening. The suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
