(KRON) — The Livermore Police Department was dispatched after a 2022 Acura TLX was reported stolen Monday night on Broadmoor Street, the agency announced on social media. Police said the theft happened around 10:30 p.m. and officers later spotted the Acura traveling westbound on I-580.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) came in to assist in the pursuit and located the Acura. According to LPD, the TLX was seen alongside an Acura MDX (SUV) stolen out of San Leandro. Authorities then followed the stolen vehicles near Hacienda Boulevard and I-580 in Dublin.
The police pursuit of the MDX led officers into Castro Valley, where it later crashed, according to LPD. The driver of the stolen SUV, who was described as a minor from Livermore, tried to run away but was arrested.

However, the juvenile suspect was taken to Juvenile Hall, but the detention center “declined to accept him,” LPD said. Livermore police did not expand further on why the jail did not accept him.
The juvenile suspect was then released to his home. As of Tuesday afternoon, the stolen Acura TLX remains at-large.
