(KRON) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that occurred Thursday morning on Interstate 580 in Livermore.
The collision occurred around 7 a.m. in the eastbound direction of I-580, east of North Livermore Avenue. CHP confirmed at 7:44 a.m. that the crash resulted in a fatality.
A Caltrans camera in the area showed a pickup truck with major damage situated on top of the right-side guard rail.

No further information on the crash was immediately released by law enforcement.
Three right lanes of eastbound I-580 remain closed for the crash investigation. There is no estimated time for reopening the full roadway. Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.
