(KRON) — Police confirmed Friday that it was an 84-year-old Antioch woman who died after being struck by a vehicle during a morning walk in mid-April.
The Antioch Police Department responded to the incident at 8 a.m. on April 17 near the intersection of Country Hills Drive and Wolverine Way and located the woman with severe injuries. Officers provided medical assistance until emergency personnel arrived, but she was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The victim has been identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office as Norma Balgos Villegas.
Police said the driver stayed at the crash scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
