(KRON) — The family of Amy Hillyard — the 52-year-old wife, mother of two and co-owner of Farley’s coffee who seemingly vanished in Oakland without a trace more than a month ago — has increased the reward from $10,000 to $25,000 for substantial leads that bring about her safe return. They are hopeful that someone out there has the smallest piece of information that can move the case forward.
The latest update on BringAmyHome.com reads, “Since Amy’s disappearance on March 25th, hundreds of volunteers, along with law enforcement, have worked tirelessly to search for answers; going door-to-door, reviewing footage, and combing through the parks and areas she loved. Despite these ongoing efforts, critical information remains missing. As time passes, the family hopes that increasing the reward will encourage anyone who may have seen something, knows something, or has even the smallest piece of information to come forward.”

Oakland police provided a statement on April 22 to KRON4 that there was no current evidence suggesting foul play in the case. They also confirmed that there were no other new details to share in the investigation.
“At present, there is no evidence of abduction, kidnapping, or any other crime associated with her disappearance,” added the Oakland Police Department. “The case remains a Missing Person At Risk.”
Her husband, Chris, added “We truly believe someone out there has information that can help bring Amy home. We hope this increased reward helps prompt that one call, that one tip, that gets someone to come forward with information.”
Hillyard was initially reported being spotted sometime after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 in the 500 block of Radnor in Oakland and there were reports that she was spotted shortly after. Family and loved ones are asking those who live in the neighborhoods of Cleveland Heights, Lake Merritt, the Lakeshore District and Crocker Highlands to look at any home surveillance video from around the 2 p.m. timeframe.
She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was reportedly wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, light-colored jeans and white sneakers with black stripes. There were initially conflicting reports that was last seen wearing a tan-colored top and tan pants.
OPD investigators recently stated that they were checking to see if Hillyard was spotted at any Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations in Oakland.
Anyone with information that can aid investigators is urged to call the Oakland Police Department’s missing persons division at (510) 238-3641.
