(KRON)– A person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash on I-880 near the Davis Street Offramp early Sunday morning.
Three cars were involved in the crash: a 2011 BMW 545I, a box truck, and a 2015 Honda Accord. The BMW had four passengers, the box truck had two passengers, and the Honda sedan had one person inside.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Information Officer Nicole Mendibil, the initial crash occurred between the BMW and the Honda. After the crash, the BMW driver, 19, and the front right passenger, 15, fled the scene. Neither were injured.
The other two passengers in the BMW were ejected after the crash; one had large facial lacerations with a major complaint of pain and was transported to Eden Medical Center. The other passenger, a 15-year-old juvenile female, died after the box truck was ramping onto the freeway after the initial crash, crashed into debris, and the female victim.
The Honda Driver was also taken to Eden Medical Center after suffering a fractured left shoulder. Both passengers in the box truck reported no injuries, according to CHP.
The 19-year-old BMW driver is being charged with felony DUI, felony hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter due to negligence.
Several access points to I-880 northbound were closed after the crash for approximately four hours.
The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
