(KRON) — A 75-year-old bicyclist died in a hospital days after a crash on Portola Road in Woodside, sheriff’s officials said Monday.
Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a collision between a car and a bicycle at 12:15 p.m. on May 1. Paramedics rushed the male bicyclist, who was alive but unconscious, to a hospital.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into what caused the collision. The driver remained at scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors, officials said.
On Monday, ten days after the crash, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the bicyclist had died in the hospital.
