(KRON) — Vice unit detectives shut down four suspected illegal massage parlors in San Jose accused of sex trafficking during an enforcement operation last week, said the San Jose Police Department.
On May 7, SJPD vice unit detectives inspected the aforementioned businesses located in the 200 block of Sunol Street, the 2000 block of Lincoln Avenue, the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue and the 2300 block of Almaden Road.
“During the operation, detectives contacted and provided resources to three survivors and also made contact with other potential survivors of sex trafficking,” SJPD said in a news release Tuesday.
Police said code enforcement inspectors will conduct follow-up checks with property owners.
“Shutting down illegal massage businesses to protect the community from exploitation is a priority for the San Jose Police Department,” added police.
